Facets of Avalon
Rachel trained at Sir John Cass College, London...seen by many as one of the best jewellery / silversmithing schools in the country. As an undergraduate she discovered small reels of colourful wires in a broken television. From that day her exploration of the material has never ceased. Rachel has developed her distinctive and very stylish knitted wire technique for the last twenty years. The copper wire Rachel knits, is enamelled. The colour range is huge! Because Rachel can combine three or four strands together at a time, she is constantly colour mixing. Colour changes within the pieces, therefore can be very dramatic or subtle, depending upon what is required. She supplies both her own outlet, Facets of Avalon in Glastonbury and galleries around the UK, her client base is international.
